The garden is a mess, because of wind and rain and our no-show lawn guy. But the plants bloom on. I am joining the Propagator as usual on Saturday…. well, not exactly usual, but I do try to carve some time to see what is going on in his world and his fellow garden followers! check it out! Rain and bad weather is heading for coastal Georgia this afternoon, so I will sail across the ocean just now!

You do have lots of gorgeous flowers. I hate it when the weather does not cooperate. We have had too many freezes this year and my plants are just coming out of the ground again.

Yes, but you do not have the extreme heat and humidity that we will suffer in August. I will be jealous of those lingering summer flowers in other climates, while I suffer through the scorching Southern days!

I think your lovely first photo is a Leucojum, a snowflake not snowdrop which is a Galanthus. It’s rather pretty with its Tiffany Lampshade flowers, mine have just finished here. I like your red buckeye, we don’t see that over here unfortunately.

Yes, Pauline, you are absolutely correct! Good call! It is so gratifying to know that someone read so carefully! The leucojum is much taller than a galanthus and the sweet bell shaped blooms last quite a long time. The petals are uniform in length, whereas a snowdrop has two different length petals! Pauline, you have a very keen eye…thank you! I have edited the post and thank you for catching that!
