“Pippa, where are you? I know it’s dinner time, but we’ve been promised biscuits if we model our snoods that our favorite Auntie made for us!!” baited Clementine
“I’m coming, I’m coming, are you sure there are biscuits? I usually get a whole mealwhen I put on my snood,” snorted Pippa.
“Auntie made a pattern available through her Etsy store, LittleSeries, so other knitters can make snoods for their favorite little dogs!”“What? I thought we were exclusive!!!” said Pippa
“Oh Pippa, you are so naive,” “Don’t you know that flattery is the highest compliment?”
“Did you say there is a cookie in it for me?” answered Pippa
“Oh yes, my dear little sister, there is a cookie waiting for you, you little fashion plate!” said Clemmie . “And maybe if this is a success, Auntie will make us another snood! We just love her, don’t we?”
“Sorry Pippa, gotta go! I smell a cookie biscuit!”
So many of my readers have inquired about the snoods, that my sister has generously provided a pattern so you can knit your own! You can find one at her etsy shop, LittleSeries, which she is updating. Contact me through replies if you are interested. You will find beautiful hand made quilts for babies there too.

I have never heard of these snoods before……very cute! I am just wondering do they have an alternative purpose other than being totally adorable? 🙂

I first found the usefulness of a snood with my first dog – an afghan hound. I realized that the breeders had to keep their show dogs’ ears clean, and they used the snoods to keep the dog from chewing or slopping their ears in their food at dinnertime! I didnt need them for my beagles and labs, but fast forward to cavalier King Charles spaniels and I am using them again to keep their ears clean during feeding. They ONLY wear them at dinner time.

How do I get the free knitting pattern for the snood?

It’s not free as it it took much work to design. I bought the pattern, and the snood is much more comfortable than the soonds with elastic, and it’s adorable.
