High over the Hudson, heading for Englewood, the sight of wings over water was astounding today!
Truly, standing so close to the precipice, fighting vertigo, the hawks and an eagle drew me across the air on this magnificent day. Some interesting gents were counting birds, binoculars secure, and as they lifted them to follow the birds, their excitement translated to we listeners and novices. I would not have known an eagle for certain but was thrilled to learn it was! Over 500 feet above the mighty Hudson, soaring with eagles!
A splendid day!
How beautiful! It must have been so exciting to see the eagles. They come down here in the winter, but it is a rare sight, and I’ve only seen one high, high, high up in a tree. (In other words, too high up to really see it!) How wonderful that you got to see them soaring free!

Beautiful, moody sky shots over the mighty, mighty Hudson. Eagles fly and sons go out west.
Both of my sons, raised in Connecticut, left the nest to soar out west, like yours. Then they stayed. I’m still back east, and I visit them out there. It’s hard to let them go, isn’t it? But so rewarding.

Your Hudson reminds me of our Columbia. It is also deep and wide but unlike yours it juts up on both sides, having carved itself a huge gorge to travel down. Gorgeous photos!
