Adore Adonis

Time leaped, sun is out, Winter is moving on, and the garden calls.  Snowbells, crocus, winter aconite, but does your garden (drum roll, please) show Adonis?

How did it get such a name?  

Do you know your Greek mythology?  Hello, Adonis, handsome youth, raised by Aphrodite and entrusted  to Persophone, fought over as each claimed him and the feud was decided by Zeus, who gave Adonis 4 months with each of the women, and some say he was off to the underworld for a third of the year.  So, like Adonis, this plant, retreats beneath ground for a portion of the year.  But let me show you what is happening now!

It appears from the decayed earth and emerges over time into…..

well, you will have to wait for that!
